about usThank You for Visiting!
Founded originally in 2003 shortly after the birth of my second son, August Lately began as a tiny home-based business creating handmade jewelry and handbags. Today, the company is a thriving LLC, and the parent company of Fiberphile. While the business has grown, everything is still handmade in my rural Vermont studio. My team has expanded to include the help of two part-time assistants (who happen to be my mom and sister), an amazingly supportive husband, and two boys who have grown just as fast as the business-- but everything still comes from my own two hands. Who We Are Georgia: That's me! I do it all, but the only part you all care about is the dyeing :) Emily: My younger sister. She's my expert skeiner, labeler and lavender sachet maker extraordinaire. She also helps out with packaging after a busy update! Susan: AKA Mom around here. Mom comes in to help when we're especially busy tying up skeins for dyeing or packaging orders. Amadon: My husband. He's the resident equipment/maintenance guy. If we need it, he can build it. So far he's built us three yarn swifts, two motorized skein winders and custom shelving and work counters for the dye studio. He's also been known to man the skeiner during late-night re-skeining sessions. Thank you for supporting a true family business!! Product images © August Lately, LLC.
